Lessons From Hinduism

In Hinduism, faith and health depend on each other. Hindus believe that humans have patterns of energy that is physical, mental and emotional. Balance of these energies leads to a natural order. Imbalance leads to disorder. Health is order. Disease is disorder. Balance is about right thinking.

Ayurvedic medicine; a traditional Indian system of medicine, describes the human body as consisting of three basic energies known as Doshas: these are:

  • Vata – Energy of movement. It resides in colon, brain, and joints.
  • Pitta- Energy of digestion and metabolism
  • Kapha- Energy of lubrication of body structure.

Health and wellness are about balancing the mind, body and spirit.

Disease is caused by toxins, a lack of proper cellular functioning. It causes an imbalance in e person. Internal balance causes stress, grief, fear, anxiety, anger, greed, sorrow and envy. When the internal is toxic, it weakens the body and decreases the ability to fight or resist harmful factors. Externally, imbalance causes pollution, changing seasons and infections. -

A heathy body occurs when the physical, the mental and the emotional are in harmonic balance.

Body, mind and consciousness must work together to maintain balance.

Imbalance produce fever, paralysis, cramps, fainting, deafness and joint pains.
